Fabric Sourcing, Designs & Commissions
Where do you source your fabrics and materials?
All the fabric used are upcycled. For the quilted bags and quilts, we mostly use thrifted sheeting. It's fun to discover lots of vibrant colours and we get a ton of yardage! 100% new cotton batting (the middle layer of the quilt) is used as well as cotton thread.
For the scrunchies, knit fabric scraps and remnants are sourced from a local sustainable clothing shop (Duffield Design in Almonte, ON).
Do you make your own patterns & designs?
Yes! The patterns for the quilted bags and scrunchies were developed by me, Jane. I also create all the patchwork designs for the quilts and quilted bags.
Fun fact: All the original quilt pattern designs are named after the small towns in Québec that inspired them!
Do take custom orders & commissions?
Yes! We are still in the process of creating a formal system for custom work and commissions. If you are interested, contact Studio Mont-Royal directly using the contact form. Let's design something colourful, fun and completely one-of-a-kind together!
Processing, Shipping & Care Instructions
How long does order processing and shipping take?
Orders are usually processed within 2-3 business days (unless otherwise indicated at checkout). All orders are shipped through Canada Post. You'll receive a confirmation email with your tracking information once your order has been shipped.
Do you ship internationally?
No, unfortunately all products are only available in Canada. Sorry, eh! Contact us directly if you are very interested and we may be able to ship to your location.
How do I care for the quilts, quilted bags & scrunchies?
Quilts can be washed in the washing machine and the dryer! Wash separately on the delicate cycle and tumble dry on low.
Quilted bags are best hand washed and laid flat to dry.
Scrunchies can be thrown in the washing machine and dryer with the rest of your laundry! Easy peasy.
